How do I change my settings?
If you are logged in you can change your picture and edit your profile - including the email address you use for Joost - at http://www.joost.com/users/me/general/. You can also get there by clicking the Settings link in the top right corner of any page on Joost when you are logged in.
Can I change my Joost Name?
At this time, you can't change your Joost Name - so hopefully you like the one you have. We'll update this answer as soon as it's possible to change your Joost Name.
How do I stop people seeing what I am watching?
Login and go to 'settings', click on the 'privacy' tab, then you can toggle the 'Stealth Mode' setting. When 'Stealth Mode' is activated, nothing you do is send to the JoostFeed. When 'Stealth Mode' is switched off, tagging, sharing, rating, commenting, viewing and friend acceptances are send to the JoostFeed which appears on your public profile page and on your friends and groups pages. These feeds are viewable by any visitor to the site.
Occasionally things you do may also appear on the 'Here's what's happening on Joost' area of the site.
How can I restrict the profile details that others can see?
Login and go to 'settings', click on the 'privacy' tab, then you can toggle the 'Public Profile' setting. This means that no-one – except you when you are logged in – can see anything except your JoostName and name. It will show a generic picture instead of any you have uploaded. If showing full profile all others (logged in or not) can see your age, gender, country, about me, blog URL and website URL, if specified. Your postcode and email are not made public, ever.
You can see how others see your page logging out and then viewing http://www.joost.com/users/<joostname>/
How can I restrict my profile to be only seen by my friends?
You can't do this yet, sorry – it's everyone or no-one.
How do I unsubscribe from the newsletter?
Once you're logged in to Joost, go to your Settings and click on the Preferences tab. (Or, you can follow this link directly http://www.joost.com/users/me/preferences to your personal preferences.) If you don't want to receive our newsletters anymore, uncheck the box in front of Content Updates.
